The Catarratto DOC - Anthìlia from the renowned winery Donnafugata is an exceptional wine that evokes the sunniness of Sicily and captures the essence of one of the island's most distinctive indigenous grape varieties. This white wine stands out for its delicate aromatic profile and its fresh and harmonious structure, making it a versatile companion for various culinary occasions.

On the nose, Anthìlia expresses an intriguing bouquet, with notes of white-fleshed fruits such as pear and peach, enhanced by floral nuances of chamomile and delicate traces of aromatic herbs. This blend of aromas contributes to a pleasant and inviting olfactory entry, which anticipates the tasting experience.

On the palate, the wine is fresh and well-balanced. The acidity is lively but not overwhelming, perfectly integrated with the fruit to offer a smooth and pleasantly persistent drink. The texture is soft and a slight mineral note in the finish further enriches the palate, confirming the typicity and elegance of the Sicilian terroir.

Anthìlia pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, from seafood to vegetarian cuisine, to light pasta and risotto starters. It is recommended to serve it chilled, at about 10-12 °C, to enhance all its nuances.

Donnafugata, with its many years of experience and commitment to quality, has created in Anthìlia a wine that not only represents the oenological Sicily but also invites you to explore the richness and diversity of this land through its flavors. A bottle of Anthìlia in your assortment ensures a tasteful choice for those who appreciate wines that tell the story of the territory they come from with authenticity and passion.

Winery history
Donnafugata began as an entrepreneurial project of the Rallo family, led by Giacomo and Gabriella Rallo. The modern company grew out of the family’s historical roots in the province of Marsala. Since its founding the brand has expanded its presence across several Sicilian territories and is now led by the next generation. Over the years the company has complemented its traditional production with sustainability initiatives, experimentation with indigenous grape varieties, and cultural projects connected to art and music.
Production philosophy
Enhancing biodiversity and Sicily's indigenous grape varieties, combining respect for the land with sustainable practices. Donnafugata focuses on carefully crafted, sometimes niche wines rooted in distinct territories, with a strong connection to the arts and cultural initiatives such as Donnafugata Music & Wine.
Terroir and vineyards
Production is spread across several estates in Sicily: Contessa Entellina, the volcanic island of Pantelleria, the Vittoria district, the slopes of Etna and the historic cellars of Marsala. Each area is employed to express different grape varieties and styles, from Pantelleria’s passito wines to the reds of Vittoria and Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Donnafugata's iconic wines, particularly the Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé, have received accolades and high ratings from Italian and international guides and publications, including Gambero Rosso, DoctorWine, Veronelli, and other international reviewers cited by the company.
