Pairing Vegetable dishes and cheeses
The Champagne R de Ruinart is an elegant expression from the house of Ruinart, designed to offer a fresh and approachable reading of sparkling wine. In the glass it shows a fine, continuous bead and a pale straw colour. On the nose it opens with freshness: notes of citrus, white flowers and light hints of white-fleshed fruit, accompanied by touches of bready yeast that add complexity without dominating. The palate entry is saline, with good tension and a balanced structure that supports a clean and pleasant finish.

It suits many occasions: from aperitif to an informal lunch, through evenings when a sparkling wine with character but not intrusive is preferred. It pairs well with delicate fish dishes, shellfish, cooked vegetables or fresh cheeses; it also works with salted snacks. I recommend serving it chilled, around 8–10 °C, in a tulip glass to enhance its aromas and bead. Those seeking a versatile and easy-drinking bottle will find in this Champagne a reliable choice with measured character.

Ruinart – Winery in Champagne (Reims)

Discover the story and wines of Ruinart.

Maison Ruinart, the oldest established Champagne house, founded on 1 September 1729 in Reims; renowned for a Chardonnay-driven style and its historic chalk cellars (crayères).
Region: Champagne (Reims)
Country: France
Winery history
Founded on 1 September 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, inspired by the monk Dom Thierry Ruinart. In the 18th century the House acquired the underground crayères in Reims for ageing; the family became Ruinart de Brimont in 1817. The House continues its historic activity in Reims and the Champagne region.
Production philosophy
Pursuit of elegance with Chardonnay as the emblematic grape, care for terroir and living soils, commitment to sustainable viticulture (HVE and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certifications), collaborations with the arts, and innovation in eco‑designed packaging (e.g. "Seconde Peau").
Terroir and vineyards
Champagne region (France): grapes come mainly from the Côte des Blancs and the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Historic vineyards include Sillery (Grand Cru) and Taissy (Premier Cru). The historic crayères are dug beneath Reims.
