Chianti Classico DOCG Pèppoli is produced at Marchesi Antinori’s estate of the same name, located five kilometres northeast of the Tignanello estate. The property covers approximately 100 hectares, including 50 hectares of vineyards. The wine is made mainly from Sangiovese, together with complementary varieties, to express the fruity and lively character of the Chianti Classico territory. Produced since 1985, Pèppoli is designed to highlight the freshness of the fruit and the characteristic floral aromas of the appellation.
The grape varieties are vinified separately in stainless-steel tanks. Temperature-controlled fermentation and carefully managed maceration help develop soft, balanced tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is blended and aged in large Slavonian oak barrels, with a small portion matured in barriques and stainless-steel vats. It displays a ruby-red colour and aromas of cherry, red fruits and violets. The palate is dynamic, juicy and savoury, with gentle tannins and a persistent finish that reflects the vibrant style of this Chianti Classico.
