This Merlot IGT (Typical Geographical Indication) from Tre Venezie, produced by the Pietra Di winery of Piera Martellozzo, represents an excellent expression of the Merlot grape, magnificently adapted to the northeastern Italian territory. The winery, known for its dedication to quality and innovation, produces this Merlot with special attention to sustainability and the preservation of varietal characteristics.

Pietra Di's Merlot has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections, typical of this grape variety. On the nose, it offers a complex and enveloping bouquet: notes of ripe red fruits like plums and blackberries blend with delicate nuances of vanilla and sweet spices, thanks to a slight passage in barrique that enriches the wine's structure without overpowering the fruit.

On the palate, the Merlot IGT Tre Venezie is smooth and well-balanced. The entry is velvety, almost silky, followed by sweet tannins that perfectly blend with moderate acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with a lingering aftertaste that echoes the olfactory sensations of red fruit and spices.

Ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, this Merlot stands out as a versatile and characterful wine. It is also perfect to enjoy on its own, as a meditation wine, to fully appreciate its complexity and elegance.

With every sip, the Merlot IGT Tre Venezie by Pietra Di - Piera Martellozzo confirms its status as a high-quality wine, capable of satisfying the most discerning palates and proudly representing the winemaking tradition of Tre Venezie.

Winery history
The company’s history dates back to the late 19th century, with the first generation of the Martellozzo family active in 1899 in the province of Padua. In the 1990s Piera, of the third generation, took the helm of the business, began re-evaluating indigenous grape varieties and launched its first organic line. In the early 2000s the headquarters were consolidated in San Quirino, in the Friuli Grave area, serving as the starting point for expansion into national and international markets.
Production philosophy
The estate combines respect for the land with an innovative approach: careful selection of well‑suited vineyard parcels, the production of wines that reflect the local territory, and a focus on sustainable practices through measures such as photovoltaic systems, lightweight packaging, water reuse and careful selection of label materials.
Terroir and vineyards
Primarily operating in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with ties to the Triveneto region; the wines are an expression of gravelly soils and a microclimate tempered by the Adriatic and sheltered by the mountains to the north.
