The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOCG from Terraviva presents as an honest, approachable red wine. In the glass it shows an intense ruby color with violet highlights; the aromatic profile suggests ripe red fruit, notes of cherry and plum, accompanied by subtle sweet spice nuances and delicate floral hints. On the palate it offers medium body, soft tannins and a balance of freshness and warmth, with fruity echoes that make it easy to drink.

Produced organically, it is intended for everyday consumption but also pairs well with rustic Italian dishes such as meat sauces, roasts and medium-aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18 °C and decant briefly if you wish to soften the younger elements. With this Montepulciano Terraviva offers an honest reading of the Abruzzo territory, suited to those seeking a genuine red without excess and with good food compatibility.

Discover the story and wines of Tenuta Terraviva (Società Agricola Collebello S.r.l.).

Winery Tenuta Terraviva (Società Agricola Collebello S.r.l.) in Tortoreto (TE), Abruzzo, Italy. Produces organic wines from native grapes (Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina); notable label: the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo "Giusi".
Region: Abruzzo (province of Teramo)
Country: Italy
Winery history
Family-run estate led by the Topi family (Pina Marano and Pietro Topi, assisted by their children Federica and Francesco). Vines on the property date back to the 1970s; the Tenuta Terraviva label has been established since around 2008. The estate converted to organic viticulture and has earned regional/national recognitions (e.g., Slow Wine; the Cerasuolo "Giusi" has been noted by Gambero Rosso).
Production philosophy
To express the terroir by using only estate-grown native grapes farmed under organic principles. Winemaking follows an artisanal approach: hand harvest in small boxes, gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, ageing mainly in stainless steel with experiments in amphora and concrete.
Terroir and vineyards
Hills of Tortoreto (province of Teramo) between the Gran Sasso and the Adriatic Sea. Soils mainly calcareous-clayey; the vineyards (about 22 ha) are planted in a sun-facing arc overlooking the sea, with a maritime-moderated climate and beneficial day–night temperature swings.
