The Nebbiolo Langhe DOC produced by Seghesio Winery is a shining gem among the labels of Piedmont. This wine, which derives its essence from the namesake Nebbiolo grape, is famous for its elegance and complexity.

In the glass, Seghesio's Nebbiolo Langhe presents with a ruby red color, typical of the grape, which tends to shift toward garnet as it ages. The bouquet is rich and complex, with dominant notes of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, coupled with nuances of violet, licorice, and spices, inherited from the influence of the soil and the unique microclimate of the Langhe region.

On the palate, the wine is balanced and structured. The acidity and tannins are well integrated, allowing this Nebbiolo to have great aging potential. The flavors reflect the olfactory promises, enriched with earthy notes and leather that slowly unravel in a lingering and harmonious finish.

Ideal when paired with Piedmontese dishes such as Brasato al Barolo or white truffles from Alba, this wine also perfectly complements aged cheeses and meat-heavy dishes. A glass of Seghesio's Nebbiolo Langhe DOC is more than just a wine; it is an experience that encapsulates the stories, territory, and traditions of one of Italy’s most renowned wine regions.

Perfect for an online wine shop that wishes to offer its customers a taste of high-quality Italian wine production, Seghesio's Nebbiolo Langhe DOC will be sure to satisfy even the most discerning palates.

Family-owned winery in the Langhe, based in Monforte d'Alba (the Castelletto hamlet), noted for its expressions of Nebbiolo (Barolo Castelletto, La Villa), as well as Barbera and Dolcetto.
Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia
Founded: 1988
Grapes: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Incrocio Manzoni
Based in Monforte d'Alba, in the Castelletto hamlet. Production focused on Nebbiolo/Barolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. Family-run estate: Riccardo and his grandchildren are involved in the operations. Approximately 10 hectares of vineyards with an indicative production of around 60,000 bottles per year. Wines reviewed by international publications and listed in specialist guides and retailers.
Winery history
The Seghesio-branded bottle first appeared in the late 1980s: brothers Aldo and Riccardo began bottling under the Fratelli Seghesio label, and the winery is now run by Riccardo together with his nieces and nephews Michela, Sandro and Marco. The business retains a family character and remains focused on the local appellations of the Langhe.
Production philosophy
The estate aims to produce wines that reflect the terroir and the characteristics of the grapes, balancing tradition with modern cellar practices to showcase the local character.
Terroir and vineyards
Production is concentrated in the Castelletto cru in Monforte d'Alba. The soils include calcareous formations and marls; some vineyards are located at around 350 m elevation with favourable exposures that contribute to the aromatic balance of the Nebbiolo destined for Barolo.
Awards and recognitions
Some of the estate's wines have been reviewed and rated by international magazines and guides: for example, Decanter awarded 91 points to the Vigneto La Villa bottling in a tasting. Other scores and mentions appear on retailers and specialized guides.
