This label that we propose was one of the first Italian labels to offer a rosé wine. If you are passionate about history and wine, then let yourself be pervaded by the ancient memories of one of the first rosé wines ever produced. In fact, its simplicity in the label can be seen as if to recall a "poor" wine, also proposed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the production of the Leone de Castris winery.
Even if of "poor label", do not be misled, because you will find in this wine an extremely NON-classic drinking companion.
The "Five Roses Anniversary" Rosato by Leone De Castris presents itself to the sight of a bright cherry pink color, with hints of berries and red fruit on the nose, including cherry, blueberry and currant, floral notes of rose and of elderflower and light iodinated mineral shades. In the mouth it is very balanced, with a full and rich flavor that turns on fruit and is excellently balanced by the great freshness.

The Cellar
The winery, located in the municipality of Salice Salentino not far from the marvelous Lecce, has an ancient history dating back to the mid-seventeenth century. The founder is passionate about such a fertile and rich land and understands its value, so, after the first years of working and processing the product, he returns to Spain, sells some possessions, returns and invests the proceeds in Salento lands.
Around Salice, Guagnano, Veglie, Villa Baldassarri, Novoli and San Pancrazio, he became the owner of several thousand hectares, on which he not only planted new vines, but also olive and wheat plants. At the beginning of the 19th century, the winery began exporting raw wine to the United States, Germany and France. The winery began bottling its products with Piero and Lisetta Leone de Castris, in 1925. In 1943, Five Roses was born, the best known product of the company and the first rosé wine to be bottled and marketed in Italy and immediately exported in the United States.
