Rosso di Montalcino DOC - Val di Suga expresses with elegance the rich winemaking tradition of the Montalcino area, in the heart of Tuscany. Made mainly from Sangiovese grapes, this wine tells the story of its territory through a fresh and lively profile, with hints of red cherry, small wild berries, and light spicy notes that envelop the palate. The aging, often carried out in steel or small wooden barrels, gives structure and fragrance without weighing down, preserving the balance and drinkability typical of this denomination. In the glass it shows a bright ruby red color, offering an intense yet accessible bouquet, ideal for those who want a first taste of the Montalcino tradition without the complexity of a Brunello. Perfect to pair with rustic dishes such as grilled meats, pasta with ragù, or semi-aged cheeses, Rosso di Montalcino DOC - Val di Suga is a wine that combines territoriality and immediacy.

Discover the story and wines of Val di Suga.

Winery in Montalcino (Tuscany) known for producing Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino through an approach based on three cru vineyards located on different slopes of the hill.
Region: Toscana
Country: Italia
Founded: 1969
Grapes: Sangiovese
Three distinct crus: Vigna del Lago, Poggio al Granchio, Vigna Spuntali Production of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC Acquired by Tenimenti Angelini in 1994 and subsequently modernized. Varied soils and microclimates that favor regional expressions of Sangiovese.
Winery history
The estate was reconverted to vineyards beginning in the 1960s. In 1969 it was acquired by a company that began converting the land to viticulture. The first harvest is recorded in 1973 and the first wine marketed under the Val di Suga label dates from 1975. In the 1980s the company began to promote single-vineyard wines and in 1994 it joined the Tenimenti Angelini group. In 2009 the cru Poggio al Granchio was created; more recently the company's image was redesigned to emphasize the three production areas.
Production philosophy
The style is oriented around the concept of terroir: the estate interprets Sangiovese through three different exposures and soils, producing both single-vineyard wines and blends that seek balance among the components. Attention is paid to the relationship between the landscape, cellar development and tasting.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Montalcino, in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, the estate comprises vineyards on three aspects of the hill, with distinct microclimates and variable soils — from galestro to sand and clay — that contribute to the varied expressions of Sangiovese.
