Let’s talk about Trebbiano DOC - Duomo di Faenza - Leonardo da Vinci 1502

More questions

Duomo di Faenza is a Romagna DOC white wine made from 100% Trebbiano grapes. The vineyards are located at the beginning of the Forlì hills, on medium-textured clay-limestone soils. The 1502 Da Vinci in Romagna collection pays tribute to Leonardo da Vinci’s journey through Romagna and highlights the area’s traditional grape varieties. The vineyards lie between 0 and 100 metres above sea level, face south and south-east, and are trained using Guyot and spurred cordon systems.

In the glass, it has a bright straw-yellow colour. Its intense, direct bouquet features notes of yellow peach, broom flowers and fresh meadow grass. The palate is savoury and well balanced between body and acidity, with an enveloping character and a naturally pleasant freshness that makes it highly drinkable. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, at a maximum of 13 °C, using selected yeasts. The wine then ages for two months on fine lees with batonnage. Serve at 10 °C, paired with grilled sardines, rocket and squacquerone cheese served with Romagna DOP piadina.
