On the palate it shows body and concentration, tannins are present but generally balanced with the structure, and the finish tends toward persistence. The magnum bottle promotes slower development, making it suitable both for enjoyable drinking now and for moderate cellaring.

It is recommended to serve at a moderate temperature, around 16–18 °C, and to decant if opening immediately to encourage aeration. It pairs with grilled red meats, flavorful braises and aged cheeses, and also stands up well to rich mushroom dishes or structured sauces.
