The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore "Sciocchina" by Albamocco is a true gem of Marche's winemaking, celebrating with elegance and finesse the indigenous Verdicchio grape variety. Coming from the picturesque hills around the town of Jesi, in the heart of the Marche region, this wine stands out for its extraordinary quality and distinctive character.

The vinification process is meticulously monitored by the Albamocco winery, following traditional methods that enhance the aromatic profile and taste of Verdicchio. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers to preserve the wine’s freshness and vibrant aromas. Subsequently, the wine ages on fine lees for several months, enriching its complexity and texture.

Visually, the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi "Sciocchina" exhibits a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections, typical of Verdicchio. On the nose, seductive fragrances of white flowers, green apple, and a delicate hint of almond open up. On the palate, the wine surprises with its freshness and balance, with a lively acidity that supports the sip and leads to a persistent and pleasantly bitter finish.

Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs wonderfully with fish dishes, seafood, and fresh cheeses. It is also excellent with vegetable preparations and vegetarian cuisine dishes.

"Sciocchina" by Albamocco is not just a wine, but a sensory experience that carries with it the history and tradition of the Jesi territory, making it an indispensable element for any enthusiast of quality Italian wines.

Winery history
The project began with a chance encounter between the owners, Alessandra Venturi and Filippo Russotto, and the Marchigian hills: after moving to the Marche they decided to dedicate themselves to viticulture, restoring local land and vineyards. Over the years they built a modern winery and, after the initial development phase, opened their production facility in Castelplanio with the support of local authorities.
Production philosophy
They practice viticulture that respects the land, with minimal intervention in the vineyard and attention to sustainability; the estate is in conversion to organic and prioritizes techniques that preserve the quality of the grapes and the wine.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the classic area of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, among hills embraced by woods and springs in the province of Ancona; the vineyards are located between Castelplanio and Poggio San Marcello, with maritime influence and clay-limestone soils.
