Winery history 1701 Franciacorta

The estate, originally part of the Conti Bettoni property in Cazzago San Martino, was acquired by siblings Silvia and Federico Stefini; the name "1701" refers to the first vintage of the historic "Brolo" vineyard on the property. The winery rapidly oriented its production toward organic and biodynamic practices, obtaining official certifications and establishing itself as a recognized presence in the Franciacorta region.

Production philosophy

Vineyard work is based on biodynamic principles, with low‑impact winemaking: limited use of chemical inputs, spontaneous fermentations, extended aging on the lees, and vinification choices aimed at expressing the terroir without adding liqueur d’expédition in the dosage.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in the municipality of Cazzago San Martino in Franciacorta, the estate includes historic vineyards planted on morainic soils composed of sand and silt. The project aims to enhance biodiversity and soil fertility.
