Winery Castello di Spessa

The estate is an ancient manor with documented origins in a Roman watchtower, and the current structure dates back to the 13th century; over the centuries it has hosted notable figures such as Giacomo Casanova. Entrepreneur Loretto Pali acquired the estate in 1987, developing the winemaking operations and transforming the property into a food-and-wine resort with a winery, wine shop, spa and an 18-hole golf course.

The estate aims for wines with an elegant, fresh profile, emphasizing the expressiveness of its crus and especially the interpretations of the Pinot varieties. In recent years a technical collaboration has been initiated to enhance the wines' freshness, minerality and longevity, alongside vineyard management practices focused on quality.

Vineyards located in the hills of the Collio Goriziano and in the Friuli Isonzo area, near the border with Slovenia. The territory is characterized by limestone hills and soils well suited to typical local and international grape varieties and to the production of Collio DOC and Friuli Isonzo DOC wines.
