Winery history Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot

The Lelarge family has cultivated vineyards in Vrigny for generations; the first records date back to the late 18th century, and the house began bottling Champagne in the early decades of the 20th century. In the 1980s Dominique Lelarge and Dominique Pugeot gave the house its current name; from the 2000s the estate embarked on a transition toward more environmentally friendly practices, with a gradual move to organic farming and biodynamic techniques, expansion of cellar facilities, and the development of natural cuvées and still wines.

Production philosophy

The estate prioritizes respect for biodiversity and the soil: organic vineyard management, biodynamic practices on parts of the estate, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and minimal cellar interventions. They also promote social initiatives related to sustainability and fair trade with international partners.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Vrigny, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims. The vineyards lie on chalky, silty‑clay and sandy soils; the estate's plantings are concentrated around Vrigny, an area recognized for its expression of Pinot Meunier.
