Winery Maison Fortant

Origins trace to the Skalli family’s winemaking activity (early 20th century). In the 1980s Robert Skalli launched varietal wines and Fortant de France (a pioneer of Pays d’Oc varietal wines). In 2011 Fortant was acquired by the Boisset group; in 2016 the Maison Fortant designation consolidated the landscape/terroir-driven approach. (sources: Fortant site, Boisset).

The philosophy is to showcase Languedoc terroirs via parcellaire selection and quality‑focused practices: seeking the best plots, careful vinification (vineyard to cellar), balancing freshness, elegance and territorial identity; commitment to local sustainability and cultural projects.

Vineyards in the Languedoc (Languedoc‑Roussillon), with plots from terroirs such as the Monts Calcaires — areas between the Garrigues and Cévennes up to about 600 m altitude, complex calcareous soils that promote acidity, minerality and aromatic complexity.
