Winery history Maison Kalder

Maison Kalder was founded when winemaker Alexandre Sidorenko took over management of an orchard in 2021. In 2023 he was joined by Judith J. Sciarone to refine production practices and enhance the potential of the terroir.

Production philosophy

Production focused on organic and biodynamic practices: late-ripening fruit harvested exclusively from the estate, spontaneous fermentations without exogenous yeasts or added sulfur, no filtration, cellar operations mindful of hygiene and racking carried out according to the lunar calendar. The estate also integrates grazing into the meadow-orchard system to promote biodiversity and balance.

Terroir and vineyards

11-hectare orchard of high-stem trees on an east-facing schist slope at approximately 200 meters elevation; administratively located in the north of the Mayenne with productions registered under IGP Normandia for ciders and AOP Domfront for perry.
