Winery history Tegernseerhof

Tegernseerhof originated as a parcel associated with the Tegernsee monastery. Historical records cite the donation and foundation of Tegernseerhof in 1176; it has been associated with the region’s viticulture ever since.

Production philosophy

The estate aims to express the character of the individual Rieden through selective harvests and careful winemaking: the goal is to produce distinctive wines that reflect the potential of the vineyards.

Terroir and vineyards

Situated in Unterloiben, in the municipality of Dürnstein in the Wachau, it cultivates vines on steep terraces and owns vineyards in Rieden such as Höhereck, Kellerberg, Loibenberg, Schütt, Steinertal and Steinriegel. The total vineyard area is reported at around 23 hectares in specialized sources.
