The Barbaresco DOCG "Ovello" by Cantina del Pino is a wine that embodies the quintessence of Nebbiolo, grown in one of the most renowned crus of Barbaresco, the Ovello vineyard. This winery, guided by the passion and expertise of a family deeply rooted in the history and viticulture of Barbaresco, produces a wine that reflects the power and elegance of the terroir.
Visually, the "Ovello" has an intense garnet red color, with orange nuances that become more accentuated with aging. On the nose, the wine expresses a rich aromatic range, where notes of ripe red fruits stand out, such as cherry and plum, enriched by nuances of withered flowers, spices, tobacco and a light trace of chocolate, all supported by a subtle mineral thread which gives further complexity.
On the palate, Cantina del Pino's Barbaresco "Ovello" shows all its structure and depth, with robust but finely crafted tannins that integrate perfectly with the typical acidity of Nebbiolo, guaranteeing a balanced and persistent sip. The finish is long and allows spicy and fruity reminiscences to emerge, with a pleasant mineral vein that cleans the palate.
This wine pairs beautifully with intense and tasty dishes, such as roast meats, game, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses. Barbaresco "Ovello" is also an excellent companion for moments of reflection, capable of evolving and revealing ever new layers of aromas and flavors as time passes.
