Roots, natural spices and carefully selected aromatic herbs are the basis of the Amaro Averna recipe. Production takes place in Caltanisetta; among the ingredients, given the territory in which we find ourselves, certainly essential oils of citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons, in addition to pomegranate, cannot be missing. These, once weighed and ground, will subsequently be melted with pure alcohol.
The product will then be mixed with water and sugar until it reaches the perfect alcohol content; and finally filtered. Until the achievement of the right amalgamation of the ingredients, and therefore the achievement of the perfect perfume and aroma, the infusion will be left to rest and cannot be bottled.
An amaro still made today following the ancient traditional recipe; it has a not too dark caramel color. When tasted, it conquers the palate with its bitter-sweet flavor, which highlights notes of orange and licorice on the sip, balanced by pleasant notes of blueberry, juniper, rosemary and sage.
Each taste will accompany you in the warm lands of Sicily, because Averna is the authentic Sicilian Amaro in all respects. A perfect end to a meal to be sipped neat at room temperature, but also with ice.
