The Sassoalloro Oro is a unique expression of elegance and refinement in the Tuscan winemaking landscape, produced by the renowned winery of Jacopo Biondi Santi. This Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) wine from Tuscany stands out for its intense blend of aromas and flavors, showcasing the excellence and winemaking tradition of the Biondi Santi family.

From vineyards located in the heart of Tuscany, this label is produced primarily from Sangiovese grapes, a variety that finds the Tuscan terroir to be the ideal place to best express itself. The Sassoalloro Oro presents a deep ruby color, almost impenetrable, which heralds the wine's complexity and structure.

On the nose, Sassoalloro Oro offers a rich and varied bouquet: notes of ripe red fruits blend with spicy sensations and slight hints of tobacco and chocolate, resulting from careful maturation in barrique. The olfactory complexity opens up to a tasting experience where power and balance coexist harmoniously. The tannins are well-integrated and soft, the body is full and enveloping, with a long and persistent finish that leaves impressions of fruit and sweet spices on the palate.

An ideal wine to accompany rich and structured dishes, such as roast meats, game, and aged cheeses. When stored under the right conditions, Sassoalloro Oro promises excellent evolution over time, and can be enjoyed even many years down the line.

Sassoalloro Oro is not just a wine, but a true symbol of how tradition and innovation can coexist, taking Tuscan wines to levels of excellence recognized internationally.

Winery history
The family's connection to the Il Greppo estate is documented from the 19th century: the first experiments with wines made exclusively from Sangiovese are attributable to members of the Santi family, while the modern Brunello di Montalcino is commonly attributed to Ferruccio Biondi-Santi, with the first documented version dating to 1888. Throughout the 20th century, family ownership and management consolidated the winery's reputation.
