The "Flaccianello della Pieve" presents itself as one of the most emblematic labels of Sangiovese in the Chianti region, representing a red of extraordinary character. This flagship wine, produced exclusively in years in which the harvest reaches excellent quality levels, is a testimony to the mastery of the Fontodi winery.
At sight, it has an intense and bright ruby red color. Its aromatic bouquet is complex and rich, with floral notes of sweet violets, currants, morello cherries and sour cherries in alcohol. It is further enriched with shades of leather, tobacco and ink. Warm and elegant on the palate, the wine is characterized by a noble tannic texture and concludes with an extraordinarily long finish, enriched by refined balsamic aftertastes.
To fully appreciate its potential, it is recommended to combine it with preparations based on red meat, game or game.
