Gaja non è "solo" Barberesco e Barolo, ma rappresenta un'eccellenza anche in campo di distillati, etichette incredibilmente sublimi e dal sapore inconfondibile. Le grappe Gaja sono prodotte nella Distilleria Cooperativa del Barbaresco fondata nel 1980.
Sono prodotte dalla distillazione di vinacce fresche che dopo la fermentazione, ancora succose e morbide, vengono preparate per la distillazione che avviene in maniera molto lenta e tramite l'utilizzo di un alambicco in rame di tipo discontinuo.
Il distillato ottenuto viene poi destinato ad un attento affinamento in piccole botti di legno della capacità di 225 litri per circa un anno, successivamente verrà diluito con acqua distillata sino alla gradazione riportata in etichetta.
Tale processo di invecchiamento dà origine ad una grappa dalla colorazione ambrata, un'etichetta prestigiosa, dal sapore rotondo, morbido, armonico e di buona persistenza. Raffinata ed appagante al palato, è una bottiglia imperdibile per appassionati e intenditori.
