Blanche de Namur is a Witbier who owes her name to a young princess, daughter of the Count de Namur. According to a legend, with its beauty, it subjugated Magnus IV Eriksson, king of Sweden and Norway; he followed him to the Scandinavian lands and never returned to his native country. In memory of its beauty, elegance and sweetness, the brewery decided to dedicate this beer to her.
The Belgian Blanche wears a light, opalescent blonde dress. Fresh floral and fruity aromas stand out on the nose, cwith subtle hints of coriander and orange peel. It's a beer high fermentation which from the first sip is perceived not very full-bodied, soft and round.
An easy to drink, fresh and thirst-quenching drink with marked hints of citrus fruits that give it an elegant bitter aroma that envelops the mouth throughout the tasting and makes it unsuitable for combinations with very filled creams and cakes. Blanche de Namur, on the other hand, is excellent to accompany light and delicate flavors, dishes based on meat or white fish, biscuits and sideboard desserts.
An award-winning beer that, among many, won the title of Best White Beer in the world in the 2009 competition World Beer Awards.
