One of Piedmont's most emblematic and prestigious wines, the Barolo DOCG from Scarzello winery represents an excellent example of the finesse and complexity that Nebbiolo can express. Produced in the Langhe, an area universally recognized for its suitability for viticulture, this Barolo is the result of careful selection of grapes from vineyards located in particularly favorable positions.
The winemaking follows traditional methods, with a long maceration of the skins allowing the extraction of intense colors, sophisticated aromas, and robust tannins, typical of this noble wine. The aging process, which includes a period in large oak barrels, helps to harmonize its components, resulting in a wine of extraordinary structure and longevity.
Visually, Scarzello's Barolo presents an intense garnet red color with hues that tend towards orange as it ages. On the nose, clear notes of violet, dandelion, ripe forest fruits, and over time, hints of spices, tobacco, and leather emerge. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a vigorous entry and notable persistence. The tannins, while robust, are finely carved and well integrated with the lively acidity, which promises excellent aging potential.
It pairs beautifully with rich, structured dishes such as braised meats, meat stews, and aged cheeses. Serve at a temperature of about 18°C to enhance its qualities.
With its distinctive character and innate elegance, the Barolo DOCG from Scarzello is a refined choice for connoisseurs and a prestigious addition to any wine cellar.
