This wine presents itself as a fascinating and refined interpretation of the Verduno area. Recognized as the most prestigious cru of Verduno and one of the most renowned in the entire Barolo region, Monvigliero brings with it a history and reputation of great importance.
Barolo 'Monvigliero' is a pure Nebbiolo wine, coming from vines over 50 years of age, grown on soil characterized by fine white marl, rich in limestone and silt, which gives the wine a distinctive profile.
The bunches, harvested manually, undergo careful fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with a contact period between must and skins lasting 22-30 days. The wine then ages for approximately 36 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels. This process is followed by at least a further 6 months of bottle aging before the wine is ready to be introduced onto the market.
In the glass, it presents a lively garnet red color. Its aromatic profile is elegant and colorful, with hints of black cherry, strawberry, dried leaves, rose petals, liquorice, cocoa and leather, enriched by subtle mineral and balsamic notes. In the mouth, the wine is structured, vigorous and tasty, with a brilliant freshness and a rich tannic texture that contribute to excellent persistence.
