Birra Forst was born in 1857 from the happy intuition of two entrepreneurs from Merano in Forst/Lagundo, near Merano; a place that provided the best conditions for the production of beer as it was rich in pure water flowing from the springs of Mount Marlengo, as well as the possibility of storing ice during the winter, an important material to be used in the summer to cool the cellars dug into the rocks , and a viable road for transit.
Even today after more than 160 years, the company is located in the same place. With the passing of the generations, the company evolved and became a large independent family-run business, one of the most important in the brewing sector, producing high quality specialty beers.
Forst Knonen is a very special beer, precisely produced with spring water, barley malt, corn grits and hops. Golden yellow in color and with a fine, adherent and persistent foam, it offers the palate a full, round and aromatic malt flavor with a light note of hops. In the aftertaste there is a slight, moderately bitter herbaceous fragrance which, together with a sweet nod on the lips, irresistibly invites you to savor it again.
This ancient pleasant recipe of elegant intensity represents the satisfaction of every expectation of the true connoisseur of beer.
