The Barbaresco DOCG produced by Poderi Luigi Einaudi is a wine that contains all the elegance, complexity and expressive strength of Nebbiolo, the king vine of the Piedmontese Langhe. The winery, founded at the end of the 19th century by Luigi Einaudi, the first President of the Italian Republic and passionate winemaker, stands out for the production of high quality wines, the result of careful work in the vineyard and skilful winemaking.
This Barbaresco has a typical garnet red color, which tends to develop orange reflections with aging. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits emerge, in particular cherries and plums, enriched by nuances of dried rose, spices, tobacco and a delicate balsamic hint. These aromas are the result of both the exceptional quality of the Nebbiolo grapes and the period of aging in wood, which adds depth without overpowering the fruit.
In the mouth, the wine is powerful but balanced, with fine tannins and a silky texture that envelops the palate. The acidity, a distinctive characteristic of Nebbiolo, is well integrated, giving freshness and guaranteeing a long life to the wine. The finish is persistent, with a pleasant return of the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.
Ideal in combination with Piedmontese dishes, such as agnolotti del plin, braised meats and red meats, Barbaresco by Poderi Luigi Einaudi is also an excellent meditation wine, capable of evolving elegantly over time and offering moments of profound tasting pleasure.
