Dodecapolis is a Primitivo produced in Sava, Manduria by Luca Attanasio's Le Vigne winery. The grapes of this excellent wine come from Primitivo ad Alberello Pugliese plants of about 50 years.
A sincere, portentous and refined wine produced with wisdom and knowledge of their land, handed down from the grandfather, then the father, and now Luca, three generations that have contributed to making Primitivo di Manduria immensely great.
The grapes are harvested by hand, in the second decade of September. After the destemming and pressing of the wine, maceration for about 15 days follows, and fermentation at a controlled temperature. The refinement is carried out in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. With bottling, the wine ends its maturation.
In the glass the color is an impenetrable ruby red, with purple reflections. The nose reveals fruity notes of blackberry, red cherry, plum and caramel. In the mouth the taste is full and dry, while the soft tannins and alcohol have a good balance. Impressive elegance.
A very balanced red, whereby all the sugary power is transformed into alcohol, eliminating that caramel excess, characteristic of many Manduria wines. The finish, long and persistent, offers a sensation to be savored unhurriedly until the last drop.
We recommend pairing with roast meats, game, game and aged cheeses.
