The Cru di Merlot IGT Maremma Toscana from Tenuta Fertuna represents an oenological excellence from the evocative territory of Maremma, where the Mediterranean climate and clay soils give the Merlot grape a rich and harmonious character.

This wine is crafted with great care, using selected grapes and subjecting the must to aging in wooden barrels that confer complexity and structure. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color, while on the nose it reveals aromas of ripe red fruits, spicy hints, and touches of tobacco. The palate is enveloping, with soft tannins and a perfect balance between freshness and body.

It pairs splendidly with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, enhancing every flavor thanks to the typical elegance of the Maremma Merlot. A wine to discover and appreciate slowly, telling the authentic identity of its territory.

Winery history
The modern project of Tenuta Fertuna began in the 1990s with the planting of the vineyards in 1997; the property developed on an estate featuring an early 20th-century villa, renovated and also converted into guest accommodation. Over the years the winery has complemented its wine production with wine tourism and dining activities, integrating business management and sustainability principles.
Production philosophy
It combines respect for local tradition with modern technology: plots are chosen based on soil and grape variety, winemaking is carried out plot by plot with temperature control, and aging in tonneaux/barriques. The estate declares an approach to sustainability and practices aimed at reducing its environmental impact.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, the estate sits on galestro and alberese soils and benefits from a Mediterranean microclimate with a strong maritime influence and a pronounced day–night temperature range.
