Bastianich's Sauvignon Blanc DOC Friuli Colli Orientali is an exemplary of how Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with its unique soils and favorable climate, is capable of producing white wines of exceptional quality and character. The Bastianich winery, founded by Lidia Bastianich and her son Joe, with their deep passion for wine and Italian cuisine, is committed to creating wines that express the richness and complexity of the Friulian territory.

Sauvignon Blanc, a vine of French origin famous for its aromaticity and freshness, finds an ideal environment in the eastern hills of Friuli to express a unique and distinctive profile. This area is characterized by marly and calcareous soils, known locally as "ponca", and by a microclimate that benefits from the mitigating influence of the Adriatic and the fresh currents coming from the Alps, factors which together contribute to developing in the wines a perfect balance between acidity and aromatic intensity.

The vinification of Bastianich's Sauvignon Blanc follows a rigorous protocol that aims to preserve the varietal qualities and expressiveness of the terroir. After a manual harvest of the grapes, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, a choice aimed at keeping the fresh and lively aromas of the Sauvignon Blanc intact. This process enhances the typical minerality and vegetal and herbaceous notes of the grape, adding complexity and depth to the wine.

At sight, Sauvignon Blanc DOC Friuli Colli Orientali has a brilliant straw yellow color, with greenish reflections that underline its freshness. On the nose, the wine offers a broad aromatic spectrum, with prevalent notes of white pulp fruits, such as melon and white peach, citrus accents, nuances of green pepper and a characteristic hint of nettle, which give a pleasant olfactory complexity.

In the mouth, the wine is extraordinarily balanced, with a well-integrated freshness and acidity that support the fruity flavors and give a long aromatic persistence. The typical minerality of the Friulian terroir emerges clearly, leading to a clean and stimulating finish.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with a variety of dishes, in particular light starters, fish and seafood dishes, Bastianich's Sauvignon Blanc DOC Friuli Colli Orientali is an authentic expression of the winemaking potential of Friuli, capable of satisfying white wine enthusiasts looking for freshness, aroma and complexity.
