The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru by Domaines Faiveley is a Chardonnay white wine that represents the pinnacle of quality and elegance of Burgundy. This Grand Cru, located in the prestigious Puligny-Montrachet territory, is part of a small elite of wines that embody the perfection of Chardonnay in Burgundy, offering an unparalleled combination of power, finesse and complexity.

Domaines Faiveley, one of Burgundy's most esteemed wineries, is renowned for its dedication to quality, precision and expression of terroir. The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is an excellent example of their savoir-faire, coming from vineyards located in one of the best parcels of Puligny-Montrachet, characterized by calcareous and clayey soils which give the wine an extraordinary minerality and a rich aromatic palette.

The vinification and refinement of this Grand Cru are managed with meticulous care to ensure that the wine best expresses the unique qualities of its terroir. Fermentation takes place in French oak barriques, with a weighted proportion of new wood so as not to overwhelm the purity of the fruit. The wine then matures in barrels for a period that can vary from 12 to 18 months, during which it develops its complexity, its structure and its subtle toasted accents.

Visually, the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru presents itself with a bright golden color, reflecting the concentration and quality of the Chardonnay grape. On the nose, the wine unfolds a rich and complex bouquet, with notes of white pulp fruit, such as peach and pear, enriched by nuances of white flowers, honey, brioche and a marked minerality. These aromas intertwine perfectly with delicate notes of vanilla and sweet spices, the result of the elegant aging in wood.

In the mouth, the wine offers an extraordinary combination of power and refinement, with a vibrant acidity that balances the richness of the body. The texture is silky and the complexity of the flavors persists for a long time in the finish, leaving an impression of pure elegance and aromatic depth.

Ideal in combination with refined dishes based on fish, shellfish, white meats and blue cheeses, the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru by Domaines Faiveley is a wine that enchants for its ability to combine aromatic intensity and structural finesse, offering a tasting experience celebrating the greatness of Chardonnay in Burgundy.

Winery history
The estate has been part of the Faiveley family since its origins: the original holdings were established in the 19th century in Nuits‑Saint‑Georges and the family progressively acquired parcels in Burgundy’s finest climats. Over the generations the domaine expanded its holdings by adding Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards and has maintained a dual role as both a domaine producer and a négociant. Today Erwan and Eve Faiveley lead the estate; in recent years the group has also extended its geographic presence and has begun transitioning to more environmentally friendly practices.
Production philosophy
Highlighting the terroir and the identity of the individual climats, the family adopts an approach focused on fruit quality, agronomic practices increasingly aimed at sustainability, and the use of technologies and experimentation to reduce environmental impact while preserving the character and expressiveness of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are primarily located in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, with holdings in Chablis. It owns parcels in numerous Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites and several historic monopoles. It also holds minority interests connected to Pinot Noir production in California.
