Located in the heart of the Barbaresco area, Castello di Neive combines historical tradition and technological innovation to produce wines that faithfully reflect the distinctive character of the terroir and the nobility of the Nebbiolo grape, from which Barbaresco is exclusively produced.
This controlled and guaranteed designation of origin (DOCG) requires the rigorous use of Nebbiolo, a vine that expresses itself uniquely in the soil and climate of Piedmont, particularly in the hills surrounding the municipality of Neive. Barbaresco del Castello di Neive is known for its perfect balance between structure and elegance, a result achieved thanks to careful viticultural practices and careful winemaking.
The winemaking follows the Piedmontese tradition, with a long maceration of the skins which allows the extraction of colour, tannins and complex aromas from the Nebbiolo. Aging then takes place in oak barrels, which helps smooth out the tannins and add layers of aromatic complexity without overpowering the fruit. This process reflects Castello di Neive's commitment to creating wines that are authentic expressions of the grape variety and territory.
In appearance, the Barbaresco DOCG of Castello di Neive has a garnet red color typical of Nebbiolo, tending towards orange with aging. On the nose, the wine exhibits a rich and multifaceted bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, together with floral nuances of rose and violet, enriched by touches of spices, leather and tobacco, which testify to its evolution in barrels of oak.
In the mouth, the wine demonstrates extraordinary elegance, with fine tannins and a solid structure that supports a harmonious set of flavors. The natural acidity of Nebbiolo guarantees freshness and a long tasting persistence, leading to a persistent and aromatic finish, with a pleasant mineral vein that recalls the terroir of origin.
Ideal in combination with Piedmontese dishes, such as tajarin with truffles, braised and roast meats, mature cheeses and mushroom-based dishes, Barbaresco DOCG from Castello di Neive is a wine that enchants for its ability to combine aromatic intensity and structural finesse, offering a deep and memorable tasting experience.
