The grape harvest takes place from mid-October. After careful selection during the collection, it follows delicate pressing followed by maceration on the skins for 25 days during which various pumping overs are carried out. Aging takes place in 500 liter French oak tonneaux for a duration of 18 months; subsequently the wine is decanted and bottled, to finish with an aging in the bottle for at least 6 months.
The DOCG is one of the excellences of the Abruzzo area; offered in the Riserva type, thanks to the targeted aging in wood, even more complexity is given to this beautiful selection from the region, which results in a wine of great structure and complexity.
A wine that stands out in the glass for its intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose is intoxicated and conquered by the fruity aromas of red fruits, among which cherries and black cherries stand out, the sweet hints of withered flowers, which intersect with light notes of spices and sweet tobacco. On the palate it is majestic, tannic and with a flavor marked by aromas of licorice and cherry.
An elegant red that when tasted has an acidity integrated into a persistent body, with the presence of soft tannins. A drink with a persuasive and savory finish, characterized by a fruity return of black cherry and spices. At the table, it goes perfectly with platters of medium-aged cheeses, first courses with meat sauces, grilled, roasted and boiled meats.
