The Sfursat di Valtellina DOCG by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is a highly prestigious red wine that celebrates the uniqueness and winemaking tradition of Valtellina, an Alpine valley located in northern Lombardy. This wine represents one of the highest expressions of Nebbiolo, locally called Chiavennasca, interpreted through an ancient drying technique which gives the wine structure, intensity and exceptional aromatic depth.

The production of Sfursat by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi follows a rigorous and meticulous process, starting with a careful selection of the Nebbiolo grapes intended for drying. After the harvest, the grapes are arranged on racks in well-ventilated environments, the fruit rooms, where they remain for a few months during which they lose part of their water content, concentrating in sugars, aromas and extractive substances.

Once the drying period is over, the grapes are pressed and fermented, with the must undergoing a slow transformation at controlled temperatures, to preserve and enhance the distinctive character of the grape variety and vintage. Aging takes place partly in oak barrels of various sizes, helping to further develop the complexity of the wine, adding layers of flavor and softness to the tannins.

Visually, Sfursat di Valtellina DOCG has an intense garnet red color, tending towards orange with aging. On the nose, the wine offers a rich and enveloping bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, dried plums, sweet spices and a light balsamic hint, the result of the concentration achieved by drying and aging in wood.

In the mouth, the Sfursat by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi reveals an imposing but balanced structure, with ripe and silky tannins that blend harmoniously with the natural acidity of the Nebbiolo. The notes of ripe fruit and spices are reconfirmed, leading to a long and persistent finish that leaves room for nuances of tobacco, chocolate and coffee.

Ideal as a meditation wine or paired with intense and tasty dishes, such as red meats, game, mature cheeses and mushroom-based dishes, the Sfursat di Valtellina DOCG by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is a testimony to the oenological richness of the region, offering a unforgettable tasting experience that combines tradition and quality.
