Rainoldi's Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Inferno" is an authentic and passionate expression of the specific terroir of Valtellina, one of the most fascinating and challenging areas for viticulture in the Italian Alps. This wine takes its name from the "Inferno" sub-area, so called for its steep terraces exposed to the sun which create conditions of intense heat, ideal for the maturation of Nebbiolo, locally known as Chiavennasca. Casa Vinicola Rainoldi, with its deep-rooted winemaking tradition and deep respect for the territory, interprets this vine with mastery, offering a wine of notable structure and complexity.

The winemaking aims to enhance the unique characteristics of Nebbiolo, through controlled fermentation and maceration which allow the extraction of colour, tannins and aromas in a balanced way. The refinement, traditionally in wooden barrels, enriches the wine with nuances of spices and vanilla, adding layers of complexity without overpowering the freshness and intensity of the fruit.

Visually, the Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Inferno" has a garnet red color, typical of Nebbiolo-based wines, with reflections that tend towards orange with age. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and complex, dominated by notes of ripe red fruits, dried flowers, and a characteristic hint of tea leaf, enriched by hints of spices, leather and minerals, which reflect the uniqueness of its terroir.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates an excellent structure and refined balance, with fine but present tannins that support an intense and persistent gustatory texture. The lively acidity gives freshness and drinkability, leading to a long and savory finish, where the notes perceived on the nose are renewed, leaving a sensation of elegance and depth.

Ideal in combination with Alpine cuisine dishes, such as bresaola, pizzoccheri and mature cheeses, Rainoldi's Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Inferno" is a fine choice for those who wish to explore the richness and diversity of Valtellina wines, offering a tasting experience that it is at the same time a journey into the taste and tradition of this extraordinary land.
