Gaja non è "solo" Barberesco e Barolo, ma rappresenta un'eccellenza anche in campo di distillati, etichette incredibilmente sublimi e dal sapore inconfondibile. Le grappe Gaja sono prodotte nella Distilleria Cooperativa del Barbaresco fondata nel 1980.
Sono prodotte dalla distillazione di vinacce fresche che dopo la fermentazione, ancora succose e morbide, vengono preparate per la distillazione che avviene in maniera molto lenta e tramite l'utilizzo di un alambicco di tipo discontinuo.
Il distillato ottenuto ha un contenuto alcolico variabile tra 70 e 75% vol. che verrà poi diluito con acqua distillata sino alla gradazione riportata in etichetta. Si procede con l'imbottigliamento e la messa in commercio.
Un'etichetta prestigiosa, una grappa bianca dal colore cristallino, dal gusto ampio e deciso. Raffinata ed appagante al palato, è una bottiglia imperdibile per appassionati e intenditori.

Distillation
Distillation of pomace in a discontinuous steam system (still/column in stainless steel) at the Distilleria Cooperativa del Barbaresco, under Gaja supervision.
Ageing
Some expressions are aged in small barrels (e.g. 225 L) and/or in barrique before bottling; others are bottled as white grappa without extended ageing.
