The cool and continental climatic conditions of the Montefalco area, combined with the suggestive hilly exposures of the area, have always favored the cultivation of red grapes. The soils, predominantly clayey with the presence of marl and sandstone, contribute to the unique characteristics of the wine. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins. After 12 months of maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels, the wine completes its evolution with a further 6 months in the bottle.
Composed mainly of Sangiovese with a small percentage of Sagrantino, this wine offers a pleasant experience that combines structure and body with freshness and fruity aromas. The brilliant ruby red color attracts the eye, while the fragrant and elegant olfactory profile offers notes of small red berries, currants, morello cherries, pomegranate and orange. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with delicate tannins, rich, ripe fruit, and a fresh, harmonious finish.
It pairs well with first courses seasoned with meat sauces, roasts and grilled meats. An excellent red with an excellent quality/price ratio.
