The Vigna Flaminio Riserva is an excellent example of how Italian winemaking tradition can express complexity and character. Produced by the renowned Vallone winery, located in the heart of Puglia, this wine stands out for its deep connection to the territory.
The Riserva Vigna Flaminio utilizes Negroamaro and Montepulciano grapes, cultivated with dedication in the characteristic red soils of the region, rich in iron and limestone, which endow the wine with a particular intensity and a robust profile. The Mediterranean climate, with its hot summers and sea breezes, contributes to perfectly ripening the grapes, allowing for an ideal balance between acidity and sugars.
The winemaking follows traditional methods, with prolonged maceration that helps to extract the maximum from the colors and aromas of the grapes. Subsequently, the wine matures in oak barrels for at least two years, gaining complexity and an elegant tannic structure.
On the nose, the Vigna Flaminio Riserva offers a rich bouquet, with dominant notes of ripe red fruits, spices, and a light touch of vanilla and chocolate, a legacy of its aging in wood. On the palate, it is robust yet harmonious, with a good balance between the fruity component and the tannic one, beautifully paired with a long and pleasantly persistent finish.
Perfect to serve with rich meat dishes, such as roasts and braised meats, but also aged cheeses and intense dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, the Vigna Flaminio Riserva is a wine that promises to evolve and refine further if properly stored in the cellar for a few years.
