This Aglianico d'Irpinia DOP produced by Rocca del Principe winery is a vinous gem that fully expresses the intensity and complexity of its prestigious territory of origin in Campania. With a deep ruby red color and violet reflections, this wine is distinguished by its aromatic bouquet, featuring notes of ripe red fruits like cherries and blackberries, which harmoniously blend with nuances of aromatic herbs, sweet spices, and a light touch of vanilla from the wood aging.

On the palate, the Aglianico d'Irpinia DOP by Rocca del Principe offers a robust and well-balanced structure. The lively acidity and the finely crafted, well-present tannins come together to offer a silky and lingering experience. Aging in oak barrels for several months further enriches the wine's complexity, allowing a perfect blend of fruity variables and woody tones.

Ideal for pairing with hearty dishes such as roast red meats, game, and aged cheeses, this wine elevates any meal into a special occasion. It is recommended to be served at a temperature of 18-20°C to best enhance all its qualities.

The Aglianico d'Irpinia DOP by Rocca del Principe is not only an excellent choice for wine lovers wishing to explore the depths of one of Southern Italy’s most noble grape varieties, but it also represents a product that recounts the history and winemaking tradition of a region rich in passion and dedication to wine. A true jewel that any collector or enthusiast would want in their cellar.

Winery history
A family-owned company established when the founding partners decided to vinify and bottle their own grapes after years of supplying them to third parties. The transition to their own label, documented in multiple sources, took place in the early years of the 21st century.
Production philosophy
An artisanal, quality-focused approach: low yields in the vineyard, management practices that respect the soil and the vines, and winery interventions aimed at enhancing varietal identity. Selected aging methods are employed, including sur lie for some white wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery, located in Lapio in the heart of Irpinia, works vineyards situated on recognized cru sites such as Arianiello and Contrada Campore. The hilly location and proximity to the Monti Picentini influence diurnal temperature variations and the ripening of the grapes.
