Amarone from Tenuta Sant'Anna is an elegant and modern wine, with a particularly enveloping and intense flavour. The Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes are grown on the sometimes terraced hillsides, at about 150 m above sea level. The soil has a silt-clayey composition, slightly alkaline and calcareous, on very ancient marl, of medium permeability and very little capacity to retain water.
The harvest takes place manually, with careful selection of the most suitable bunches for drying; these are then placed on the plateaux and placed in the loft, where they remain for at least 3 months. In this period of time the berries lose about 40% of their weight. The vinification begins towards the end of February with the destemming of the grapes; the temperature during fermentation fluctuates from 12° to 23°C, with slow maceration lasting 30 days, 12 of which cold. Manual punching down of 3 per day is performed daily. We continue with the malolactic fermentation, aging in wood and in the bottle before being put on the market.
A certainly important wine, taken care of from the very first moment. It dyes the glass with an intense garnet red colour. The nose offers intense aromas of wild berries and cherries. In the mouth the sip is elegant and full-bodied, with an enveloping flavor.
The perfect glass to combine with game and grilled meat, also excellent with braised meats and aged cheeses. Perfect as a meditation wine to be sipped without haste.
