The Barolo DOCG "Capalot" by Crissante Alessandria is a wine of great expression and character, produced in one of the most renowned areas for the cultivation of Nebbiolo, the heart of Piedmont. This winery, located in the historic Langhe region, is guided by a philosophy that combines respect for tradition and openness to innovation, with the aim of producing wines that faithfully represent the territory and the variety from which they are born.

The "Capalot", coming from the vineyard of the same name, has an intense garnet red color, which tends to acquire orange shades over the years. On the nose, the wine offers a complex and deep bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, dried flowers and hints of tobacco and leather, which intertwine in a rich and enveloping olfactory profile, typical of the best Barolos.

In the mouth, the Barolo "Capalot" by Crissante Alessandria stands out for its solid structure and its elegance, with fine but present tannins, which help to outline a full and persistent sip. The acidity is well balanced, supporting a complexity of flavors that return in the long finish, leaving sensations of great harmony and pleasure in the mouth.

Ideal in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as grilled red meats, braised meats, game and mature cheeses, this Barolo also lends itself to prolonged aging, capable of developing further levels of complexity and nuance over time.

Winery history
The estate was founded in 1958 when Crissante Alessandria, together with his wife Teresa, decided to vinify the grapes from the family vineyards, which until then had been sold to other wineries in the Langa. Over the years the property expanded its vineyards on La Morra’s best exposures; management has remained family-run and today is led by Michele Alessandria, with the involvement of his sons Alberto and Luca.
Production philosophy
Production rooted in the traditions of the region: use of native grape varieties, traditional winemaking with extended fermentations, and careful ageing in wooden vessels of varying sizes to respect the specific characteristics of each wine.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate’s vineyards are located in the municipality of La Morra, in the Capalot, Galina and Roggeri vineyards. The winery and family residences are situated in the hamlet of Santa Maria Borgata Roggeri.
