Produced in the heart of Tuscany, in the renowned Montepulciano area, this wine represents one of the maximum expressions of the Sangiovese grape, known locally as Prugnolo Gentile, enriched with small percentages of other native grapes to increase its complexity and aromatic facets.
"Sotto Casa" refers to the vineyard located in the immediate vicinity of the Boscarelli winery, where the terroir, characterized by a particular composition of the soil and an ideal microclimate, allows us to obtain grapes of extraordinary quality. This proximity, in addition to giving the wine its name, symbolizes the attention and care that the family dedicates to viticulture and the production of exceptionally high-level wines.
The winemaking follows the philosophy of minimal intervention, with the aim of best expressing the varietal and terroir characteristics. The "Sotto Casa" Reserve matures in oak barrels for a prolonged period, which varies depending on the vintage, to enrich the wine with complexity, elegance and structure, while maintaining the balance and freshness typical of the best Vino Nobile of Montepulciano.
Visually, the wine has a deep and bright ruby red color, with garnet reflections that develop with aging. On the nose, it expresses a rich and complex bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits intertwine with accents of spices, vanilla, tobacco and leather, evidence of the careful aging in wood.
In the mouth, "Sotto Casa" reveals great structure and depth, with elegant and well-integrated tannins that support a rich range of flavors, from fruity to spicy and balsamic, leading to a long and persistent finish, the sign of a wine of great quality and longevity.
