The Brut Metodo Classico Farnè VIII sparkling wine produced by La Riva represents excellence in the realm of Italian sparkling wines. This effervescent wine is made from carefully selected Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes, cultivated in the fertile hills that characterize the production area.

The production of this sparkling wine follows the stringent Metodo Classico, entailing a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This process, accompanied by a maturation period on the lees of no less than 36 months, bestows Farnè VIII with aromatic complexity and an elegance that is rarely found. On the nose, one can appreciate delicate scents of ripe white fruits like apple and pear, accompanied by subtle hints of bread crust and fine yeast, with a light touch of fresh almond.

The color is a light straw yellow with greenish reflections, bright and lively, enriched by a fine and persistent perlage that enchants the palate with each sip. In taste, the Farnè VIII is fresh and balanced, featuring a lovely acidity that harmonizes smoothly with a creamy sensation and a long-lasting aromatic persistence.

This sparkling wine is ideal as an aperitif or to accompany a full meal, particularly suited for dishes based on fish, seafood, and white meats. Its elegance also makes it perfect for celebrating special occasions and memorable toasts.

Let yourself be seduced by the refinement of this artisanal sparkling wine, which showcases the craftsmanship and passion of La Riva winery in creating high-quality wines.

Winery history
Tenuta La Riva was founded as a family project, driven by Alberto's passion and the tradition of several generations. The estate has grown steadily, focusing on bottle refermentation and the promotion of local grape varieties such as Pignoletto and Trebbiano Modenese, with the family involved in every stage from vineyard to cellar.
Production philosophy
The winery favors refermentation in bottle and a low-intervention winemaking approach: organic farming, low use of sulfites and techniques that respect the land and health. For sparkling wines they practice long periods of lees contact and perform disgorgements à la volée for low- or no-dosage wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate, located in the Colli Bolognesi at Castello di Serravalle, is surrounded by the characteristic calanchi of the Emilian Apennines and lies about half an hour from Bologna. It cultivates indigenous and international grape varieties suited to the hilly terrain.
