The Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru "Les Ouvrées Rodin" by Domaines Faiveley is one of the most prestigious and sought-after expressions of Burgundy. This exceptional wine comes from a small plot within the famous Clos de Bèze, one of the oldest and most famous Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits, in Burgundy. “Les Ouvrées Rodin” represents the pinnacle of winemaking quality and precision of Domaines Faiveley, a historic winery distinguished by its ability to produce wines of extraordinary complexity and depth.

The "Grand Cru" appellation in Burgundy is reserved for the best vineyards, with Clos de Bèze enjoying an unrivaled reputation for producing Pinot Noir wines of exceptional quality. The unique terroir of this area, characterized by a calcareous soil rich in marl, together with the ideal exposure and meticulous care of the vineyard, contributes to creating a wine of incredible concentration, elegance and longevity.

"Les Ouvrées Rodin" by Domaines Faiveley is known for its extraordinary aromatic precision and its impeccable structure. The vinification and aging in new oak barriques are carefully managed to enhance the natural characteristics of the Pinot Noir, without overpowering its finesse with excessive wood notes. This refined production process ensures that each bottle faithfully reflects the expression of its terroir and specific vintage.

When tasted, the Chambertin Clos de Bèze "Les Ouvrées Rodin" opens with an intensely aromatic bouquet, where aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, intertwine with notes of withered flowers, delicate spices and a subtle minerality. These aromas develop and deepen with opening, revealing complex layers of wet earth, leather and tobacco, which add depth and intrigue the palate.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates controlled power, with fine but firm tannins that frame a rich and varied palette of flavors. The balance between lively acidity and the richness of the fruit creates a harmonious and multidimensional tasting experience, culminating in a long and persistent finish, marked by an elegant spicy aftertaste.

The Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru "Les Ouvrées Rodin" by Domaines Faiveley is a collector's and meditation wine, which evolves beautifully over time, revealing new facets and depths with ageing. It is an ideal companion for complex and rich dishes, such as roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses, where its structure and complexity can be fully appreciated.

In conclusion, "Les Ouvrées Rodin" by Domaines Faiveley is a tribute to the richness and diversity of Burgundy, a wine that embodies the excellence of Pinot Noir and testifies to the winemaking art of one of the most prestigious houses in the region.

Winery history
The estate has been part of the Faiveley family since its origins: the original holdings were established in the 19th century in Nuits‑Saint‑Georges and the family progressively acquired parcels in Burgundy’s finest climats. Over the generations the domaine expanded its holdings by adding Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards and has maintained a dual role as both a domaine producer and a négociant. Today Erwan and Eve Faiveley lead the estate; in recent years the group has also extended its geographic presence and has begun transitioning to more environmentally friendly practices.
Production philosophy
Highlighting the terroir and the identity of the individual climats, the family adopts an approach focused on fruit quality, agronomic practices increasingly aimed at sustainability, and the use of technologies and experimentation to reduce environmental impact while preserving the character and expressiveness of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are primarily located in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, with holdings in Chablis. It owns parcels in numerous Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites and several historic monopoles. It also holds minority interests connected to Pinot Noir production in California.
