The 2017 harvest was characterized by a quantitative decrease compared to previous harvests, however, it produced exceptionally healthy grapes with optimal ripeness. In mid-September, we proceeded with the manual selection of the grapes and, subsequently, with the debunching using an optical selector. The fermentation occurred spontaneously, without the addition of yeasts, and the maceration was assisted by frequent punching down. This process took place in conical steel vats at a controlled temperature for a period of 24 days, resulting in a young and bright red wine.
The resulting bouquet is powerful and complex, expressing all the elements of a generous vintage like 2017: fresh white flowers followed by intense, ripe red fruits such as cherries and wild blackberries. In the finish, the typical balsamic note emerges. On the palate, the wine quickly reveals its full, rich and intense character. The tannic texture blends harmoniously with the acidity, resulting in an elegant and persistent finish.
