The "Petruna Sangiovese in Anfora" from the Il Borro estate showcases an extraordinary expression of Sangiovese cultivated in the fertile lands of the Valdarno di Sopra DOC. This distinctive wine is exclusively vinified in terracotta amphorae, employing an ancient method dating back to the origins of winemaking, which imparts the wine with unique complexity and depth.

The warmth of the Tuscan sun and the region’s fertile clay soil give rise to exceptionally high-quality Sangiovese grapes. Once harvested, these grapes are transformed into a wine that is rich and deeply rooted in its original terroir. The fermentation in amphora allows for natural micro-oxygenation, preserving intense fruity aromas while adding layers of earthy and mineral notes rarely found in other winemaking methods.

Visually, the Petruna presents a brilliant ruby-red color. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of cherry, blackberry, and subtle hints of spices and wilted flowers. On the palate, the wine bursts with elegant robustness, balanced by silky tannins and a lively freshness. Earthy notes, stone, and light spices define the long and persistent finish.

Exquisitely handcrafted, the "Petruna Sangiovese in Anfora" is ideal for pairing with richly flavored dishes such as red meat roasts, mushroom-based dishes, or aged cheeses. Not only is this wine a memorable tasting experience, but it also pays tribute to the heritage and winemaking culture of Tuscany, making it a prestigious addition to any wine collection.
