An ancient story, which has perhaps become a legend, tells of this particular type of grape: Susumaniello is an ancient and rare grape of the Salento peninsula. In the Salento dialect, Susumaniello means "little black donkey". The old farmers say that it derives from the habit of the vineyards to load themselves with grapes, others argue it is due to the stubborn character and the reluctance to be tamed.
Unlike Primitivo or Negroamaro, this grape with vines stands out for its intense notes of blackberry mixed with chocolate and blueberries, almost like a dessert.
Full-bodied wine, with elegant tannins and a long clean finish that invites you to the second and third sip.
