Marqués de Murrieta's Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is one of the most emblematic and celebrated wines of Rioja, representing the pinnacle of Spanish winemaking tradition. This wine is the result of a rigorous selection of the best grapes from the Ygay estate, one of the oldest and most prestigious in Marqués de Murrieta, located in upper Rioja.

Produced only in years considered exceptional, Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is a blend mainly of Tempranillo, with a small percentage of Mazuelo, which contributes to the complexity and structure of the wine. After careful vinification, the wine is aged for a long period in oak barriques, followed by further refinement in the bottle before being released on the market. This prolonged aging process is essential to develop the aromatic richness, elegance and aging capacity that characterize Castillo Ygay.

At sight, Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial has an intense ruby red color, which with age tends to acquire garnet shades. The bouquet is deeply complex and inviting, offering layers of aromas ranging from ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, to notes of spices, leather, tobacco and vanilla, all enriched by a subtle mineral vein.

In the mouth, the wine is extraordinarily elegant and balanced, with a fine and mature tannic structure that supports a rich and complex body. The acidity is well integrated, contributing to a sensation of freshness and liveliness that persists through a long and memorable finish. The complexity of the Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial unfolds beautifully in the glass, revealing new nuances of flavor with each sip.

This wine is an excellent choice for special occasions and pairs beautifully with rich, flavorful dishes, such as grilled red meats, game, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses. Additionally, its remarkable aging potential makes it an ideal candidate for any collector's cellar, promising to evolve and improve for many years to come.

In conclusion, the Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is a tribute to the winemaking mastery of Marqués de Murrieta, offering a tasting experience that enchants and inspires, highlighting the richness and depth of Rioja's great wines.
