Piera1899 is a solid name and one of the reference wineries in the North East of Italy; always devoted to one goal: to obtain the best possible quality in wines characterized by pleasantness and pairing, able to compete with the greatest winemaking traditions in the world.
The grape harvest takes place at the end of September. Maceration takes place by contact with the skins for fifteen to eighteen days at a temperature of 25 ° - 28 ° C. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by a period of refinement of about ten months in barrique and a maturation in the bottle for about two months.
In the glass it shows a cIntense and brilliant ruby red color that fades into garnet with the aging of the wine. On the nose it releases a fragrance full and persistent, with hints of dried morello cherry and ripe cherries on a vanilla and violet floral background. On the palate the flavor is dry, harmonious, velvety on a persuasive tannic shoulder, with a surprising finish with notes of pepper and dark chocolate.
A versatile glass, rich in aromas and structure that can be tasted alone or in company as a meditation wine; but also a red that goes superbly with red meats, roasts and aged cheeses.
