Prunotto's Barolo DOCG "Bussia" represents one of the most prestigious and refined examples of this appellation, coming from one of the most celebrated sub-areas of Barolo, namely Bussia, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. This wine is the result of a careful selection of Nebbiolo grapes, a vine that finds a unique expression in this particular area thanks to the specific terroir that characterizes the soil and microclimate of Bussia.
Prunotto, a winery with a rich history and a consolidated reputation in the production of high quality Piedmontese wines, carefully takes care of the winemaking process of Barolo "Bussia", following traditional methods that allow the intrinsic qualities of Nebbiolo to be enhanced. The grapes are harvested manually and, after fermentation, the wine matures in oak barrels for at least two years, followed by further refinement in the bottle which helps to develop the complexity and elegance that are typical of the best Barolos.
Visually, Prunotto's Barolo "Bussia" has an intense garnet red color, with reflections that tend towards orange with aging. On the nose, it offers a complex and intensely aromatic bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and plums, together with nuances of violet, tobacco, leather and subtle spicy accents, the result of the evolution of the wine both in barrel and in the bottle.
In the mouth, the wine reveals a robust and well-defined structure, with solid but elegant tannins and a balanced acidity that guarantees its longevity and harmony. The flavors of ripe fruit intertwine with earthy and mineral notes, typical of the Bussia terroir, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a sensation of notable complexity and depth.
Ideal for accompanying rich and tasty dishes, such as roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses, Prunotto's Barolo "Bussia" is also an excellent meditation wine, capable of evolving and improving with the years of aging in the cellar.
With its Barolo "Bussia", Prunotto offers an authentic and sophisticated expression of one of the noblest appellations of Italian wine, celebrating the richness of Nebbiolo and the unique character of the Bussia terroir with a wine that continues to enchant and gain admirers among wine enthusiasts from all over the world.
